Students where given a large peg board and had to design a course with rubber-bands that transported a ping-pong ball the farthest distance, but as slow as possible.

Paper Rocket Lab (8/20,8/21)

This lab, students were in charge of altering a basic paper rocket design so that when launched at 7 psi, it would go the farthest distance. Students changed the rocket size, the number and shape of fins, weight and the shape of the nose cone. The best rockets reached a max distance of  75 feet.
